7 homeless veterans buried with military honors

Hundreds of brothers in arms paid their respects Wednesday to seven homeless or unclaimed veterans.

With full military honors, the Dignity Memorial Homeless Veterans Program buried the soldiers in the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.

All seven served in United States Army with duty spanning the World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf War eras.

Don Smith with Vietnam Veterans of America said they try, but are not able to reach all of the veterans who are suffering. But no matter the circumstances, every veteran deserves a proper burial.
