The first event is a women veterans history event, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., in the fifth floor auditorium of the main hospital building at 830 Chalkstone Ave. It will feature women veteran speakers, eligibility information and resource materials for women veterans who wish to learn more or enroll for VA health care services.
During the evening session, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Rhode Island College Student Union ballroom, 600 Mount Pleasant Ave. in Providence, the Providence VAMC will collaborate with the gender and women’s studies program at the college for a screening of “Soldier On: Life After Deployment.” The documentary film by Tree of Life Productions tells the story of three women veterans confronting the challenges of readjusting to civilian life after their post-Sept. 11 military service.
